The goals of the new R5 were to create the ultimate Grand Tour bike. This means that they needed to fulfill world-class levels of climbing, descending, sprinting, and recovery. The Cervélo Squoval Max tube design makes it more aero and efficient for climbing with its rounded, rectangular tubes.
